Where does overwhelm come from?

Overwhelm comes from trying to live up to the myth of work-life balance. It’s a ridiculously high standard that we always fall short of despite our superhuman efforts.

It is like trying to keep a teeter-totter perfectly horizontal, which is impossible, at least for sustained periods.

Work is a part of life; we can’t separate it out.

After all, work pays for our life, but all this non-stop stress and pressure of trying to find work-life balance will literally kill you. Not to mention tank your income, destroy your passion, and force you to miss out on irreplaceable moments with the people you love most.

You always have a choice. Even when it doesn’t feel like it, even when none of the options are great, you still have a choice.

How to overcome overwhelm

Daily responsibilities will always get in the way, but hustling, scrambling, and punishing yourself are proven recipes for overwhelm, NOT the joyful, spacious life of your dreams.

Instead of hoping you’ll have space for your passions and dreams “someday,” here’s a strategy that actually works to overcome overwhelm:

MAKE THEM A PRIORITY AND DO THEM FIRST

Life’s too short to defer your dreams to “someday,” and if you don’t put your dreams first, no one else will.

Escape the exhaustion of hustle culture and design a life you love without sacrificing your relationships, health, or sanity.

If you’re done with shame and exhaustion and ready for a new way of thinking, living, and working, grab the Priority Planner now, and let’s do this damn thing already.
